What’s in a Name Reading Challenge

What’s in a Name reading challenge is hosted by Beth Fish Reads.

It’s a quirky little challenge – read one book that fits each of the six ‘categories’ between January 1 and December 31, 2013. The ‘categories’ are good fun –

I’m being smart about this challenge and picking books that are already in my TBR stack (this is known in the business as two-up-Tuesday or multi-tasking) and in doing so I knock some off my Off the Shelf challenge as well. Furthermore, some of these even capture titles that I’d listed in my Alphabetical Gaps list, so as you can see I’m basically ticking boxes all over the shop. Go me.

I’m kicking off with The Easter Parade by Richard Yates (also fills in letter ‘Y’ for my Alphabetical Gaps list) and Empire Falls by Richard  Russo (letter ‘R’ and also on my TBR stack). Easter Parade obviously fits with the party or celebration category but am I stretching the friendship putting Empire Falls in the up/down category? Let’s just call me creative, okay?

I’m keeping track of all my challenges on my freshly minted 2013 Reading Challenges page.
