You’re going to think I’m weird. A little obsessive-compulsive. But since I finally got around to organising all my book reviews into a handy list, ordered alphabetically by author, there’s something that has been really bugging me. The gaps.
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week a new ‘top ten’ challenge is posted – this week’s topic is a freebie so I’ve decided to list some authors that I MUST read so that my alphabetical list has at least one author for each letter of the alphabet. At this point, some of you will totally understand this need for completeness. Others will think I’m a total nut.
So, the letters missing authors are (in alphabetical order of course):
O
1. I Came to Say Goodbye by Caroline Overington
Q
2. One True Thing by Anna Quindlen
R
3. The Imperfectionists by Tom Rachman
4. Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
U
5. Marry Me by John Updike
V
6. Miss Garnet’s Angel by Sally Vickers
7. The Enchanted April by Elizabeth von Arnim
X
8. Message from an Unknown Chinese Mother: Stories of Loss and Love by Xinran
Y
9. The Easter Parade by Richard Yates
Z
10. The Post Office Girl by Stefan Zweig
I completely understand about the gaps, they bug me too, so it’s nice to meet someone who understands! 🙂 Here’s my Top Ten Tuesday list: Top Ten Catchiest Book Titles:

Glad I’m not the only one bugged by gaps! I LOVE your list 🙂
I totally understand too. I only have two reviews at the moment though so you can image how gross that looks… Good luck on filling those gaps.
Now that I’ve mentioned it you probably won’t rest until you’ve got a review filed under each author 😉
I totally understand why you need to do this. This will also be a great challenge for 2013! Happy reading!
The hardest letter to find an author for that interested me was X – stay tuned for my review!
love this idea..and though I do not get bugged by the gaps, would definitely love to fill them in:) http://myrandrspace.blogspot.com/
Once I had noticed the gaps I just couldn’t get past it!
The Imperfectionists is good, I just finished it last week. I know I have gaps, I just haven’t looked!
I bet you’ll look now (but whether they bother you is another thing!).
I, O, Q, T, U, V, X, Y, Z. This must be rectified.
Ha ha! Have you read The Book Thief by Markus Zusak? If not, start with filling in Z, it’s brilliant.
I love John Updike so I’m glad you picked him for “U” and I totally get your weird little need for not having any gaps:-)
