Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week a new ‘top ten’ challenge is posted – anyone can join in. This week’s topic is the Top Ten Most Anticipated Books for 2013 .
It seems almost obscene to be ‘looking forward’ to new releases when my TBR stack is towering… But here goes.
1. The new Bridget Jones novel by Helen Fielding – I can’t wait to see what Bridget is up to now.
2. A Thousand Pardons by Jonathan Dee – I’ve read a few books by Dee and really loved the bizarre Palladio. Dee writes about modern families with sharp insight – looking forward to the latest (and I have an advance copy so stay tuned for an early review).
3. Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell – it’s a high school love story set in 1986… It might just take me back to my own high school love story in 1986 (his name was Robert Evans…. but I’m over him, truly. Really. Barely remember his name.)
4. The Aviator’s Wife by Melanie Benjamin – the comparison to Loving Frank was enough to win me.
5. Raising Cubby by John Elder Robison – Look Me in the Eye was brilliant and I can’t wait to see what happened in Robison’s life next.
6. Little Known Facts by Christine Sneed – must admit, it’s all about cover appeal with this one.
7. The Comfort of Lies by Randy Susan Meyers – my light chick-lit pic for holiday reading.
8. The Mothers by Jennifer Gilmore – not released until April but I’m already hearing stuff (good stuff) about it.
9. The Love Song of Jonny Valentine by Teddy Wayne – again, sucked-in by the comparisons (in this case Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close).
10. The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer – looks interesting!
Eleanor and Park looks good, though I must admit I was quite little in the ’80’s. I hadn’t heard that there would be a new Bridget Jones, I am curious where she will be in her life now!
You must be far, far younger than me! 😉
A Thousand Pardons is on my list too. I hadn’t heard of Teddy Wayne but anything that is compared to Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close piques my interest. When I looked it up on Goodreads it said “For fans of A Visit from the Goon Squad and Joyce Carol Oates’s Blonde”, – this one is going right to the top of my list!

Teddy Wayne new to be as well – shows how powerful good comparisons and testimonials can be!
I can not wait for the next Bridget Jones! I adore her (both the books and the movies) and can’t wait to get another story!
Will be interesting to see how far forward into the future Fielding takes the character.
I am with you on The Aviator’s Wife. Wonderful diverse list.
It’s also been compared to The Paris Wife which I haven’t read yet (it’s in my TBR stack…which is towering!)
The new Meg Wolitzer book sounds great! That one’s definitely going on my TBR list.

Haven’t read anything by Wolitzer before but this one caught my eye – may have been the gorgeous cover!
Eleanor & Park was really good! I enjoyed it, mostly because the writing style was very, very unique.
Unique… I’m really looking forward to it now!
The Comfort of Lies and A Thousand Pardons are both on my radar for 2013 too! Great picks!
My TTT!
I have ARCs of both books – stay tuned for reviews!
These look great! I’ll agree with you, The Interestings looks, well, interesting. 🙂
I can’t for the return of Bridget Jones either. Eleanor and Park sounds like it could bring some memories 🙂
There’s lots of overlap with my list here. I’m super excited about Eleanor and Park and the Wolitzer. I’m going to check out The Mothers.
